Matthew Nelson is a regional production manager for Sabal Capital Partners, LCC, a nationwide commercial real estate lending company. He previously worked for the The Community Preservation Corp., where he focused on building and growing CPC’s partnerships with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, focusing on small balance and affordable multifamily housing lending. Aside from real estate, Matthew has worked in state and national politics, where one of his biggest accomplishments was working on New York State’s response programs for homeowners and small businesses impacted by Hurricane Irene and Superstorm Sandy. He served as senior staff to both New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo and former Governor David Paterson, and at the national level he has worked on campaigns for Hillary Clinton and Senator John Edwards. Matthew is a member of the Capital Region Economic Development Council (CREDC), serves on the board of the NYS Rural Housing Coalition, is president of the Ichabod Crane Central School District Board of Education, is chair of the Town of Kinderhook Democratic Committee and serves on the Town of Kinderhook Board of Assessment Review.
